This portrait is painted with much more control than the one I posted on Oct. 22. I find it much easier to paint like this than to paint loosely the way the other one was painted.
"COFFEE TALK" on Arches 140# CP 22 x 15" TRANSPARENT WATERCOLOR
Welcome to my painting world. Here you'll discover the art journey I've enjoyed while experimenting with many kinds of watermedia. In my studio on the west side of Cincinnati, Ohio, I offer several weekly Open Studio Group Sessions filled with great info and critiques, as well as weekend workshops occasionally throughout the year. You may also find me traveling in Europe teaching watermedia workshops. Leave a comment if you like. Hope you will be back soon. Thanks for stopping by.

This is a wonderful portrait! I love the way her dark skin glows, and all the colors you found in her hair. I also like the way the dark rectangle makes a perfect backdrop via the cruciform design.
A gorgeous painting, Sandy, and having seen it in person I know it's even better IRL :)
