A GREAT SHOW - Feb'08 at Sharon Woods

Here are some photos from yesterday's opening. That guy right in front of Kathy's truck painting (2nd pix) is my Bob (married 40 years this June...) That's me, the teacher, in the top photo by Susan's sunflower painting, getting a hug from artist and good friend, the other Bob! Many more original paintings are posted below created by 45 wonderful artists. Our turnout for the opening was excellent, too! 'Thank you' to everyone who visited the show.

So many masterpieces, so many unique artists with their own special style, all making the show an adventure to see! Stop by between now and 4 on Sunday the 24th. I know you'll enjoy the show.

More photos of our opening. You can see the diversity in the work shown... many techniques employed, a variety of expressions, all unique to each artist. Some traditional watercolor beautifully done, some acrylic, a little oil, some collage and batik, as well as rice paper...gesso...YUPO... abstracts, some expressionistic work, all creative and original works of art! And as you'll see below, we didn't lack for delicious munchies, either.

There are so many paintings in this show --- I tried to show a few of each person's work. So sorry about the reflections but that always goes with taking pictures at a show. You can see the range of experience of the artists in the show, with some students having studied for less than a year and others for many years. It makes it all fun.

Thanks so much for checking out this show. I am very proud of all the artists who have contributed to the show and really appreciate their diligence and hard work. Only one of the photos above shows my own work, so all the rest of these fabulous paintings have been done by the many talented artists in my classes:-) That's all folks!

Ooh Noo ---- Artist Mike Bailey from California has tagged me... so once again, I have to tell 5 things that most people don't know about me, then tag five more people to tell their 5 unknown things, tagging their 5 more people - and on and on around the world it goes, coming back to tag us again and again. And again.
Some maybe 'unknown' (and somewhat disasterous) things about me ---1. Even though I dislike cooking and baking, I love to make soup. Right now, I have a huge pot of veggie soup simmering on the stove. Yum.
2. Once when I was a kid, I wanted to be a nurse, after reading a book about a nurse. Besides that fleeting moment, I've always wanted to be an artist.
3. I've somehow only gotten one speeding ticket in my life - doing 70 in a 55, twenty five years ago. Recently I've adopted a new policy - Speed limit means 'LIMIT' - so I try not to speed at all.
4. I have NEVER made a successful loaf of bread in my life - even with a breadmaker:-(
5. When I was preteen, my big brother, Roger, was willing to eat the cup cakes I made that were the size of an eraser and bounced when you dropped them. He still grew up to be a big guy.
