Impromptu YUPO

This painting was done as a quick, impromptu demo for last month's batik workshop..... and it's done on YUPO paper. YUPO is a slick, plastic-like surface that will last for ages and ages. Painting on it with watercolor and fluid acrylics results in even brighter colors than if painting on regular watercolor paper.

At the end of August, I'll be teaching a YUPO workshop here in my studio, to introduce some unique and different approaches to using YUPO. All kinds of mediums will be used, from charcoal to Caran d'Ache crayons, even inks. Our subject matter will be limited only by our imaginations, and I'm looking forward to a great workshop.

Check out more info on the right hand side bar if you're interested in the workshop, but right now, I only have room for four more in the workshop.

Oh if only I lived near you or even within a whole day's driving time, I'd love to attend your YUPO workshop. Have a great time - and look forward to seeing images of your fun day together.

This is the second time I've seen a painting done on YUPO. I must admit to being intrigued. I suddenly (just at this moment) find myself wondering if this might be the one thing that forces more looseness in my painting attempts. Hmmm...

Oh yes! this is a beautiful painting, Sandy!

Sandy, you are certainly the real Queen of Yupo! As always, beautiful work!!!

I bought a mouth atomizer after seeing the colour you add with yours. I'm still learning to use it. Without passing out. Phew!

I'll master it, though.

Like Joan says, if only I lived closer to you! I'd sure love to go to your workshops.

Your paintings are beautiful. I have never used Yupo but after looking at your wonderful work I definitely want to try. Too bad I live too far for your workshop.
